St. Louis has been the place where the river trade turned west since 1764, and the city still carries itself like a port that saw everything first. Forest Park is bigger than Central Park and keeps its zoo, art museum and science center free, Soulard has held a farmers' market since 1779, and the Hill still serves toasted ravioli on red-checked tablecloths a few blocks from where it was supposedly invented. Eads Bridge was the first to span the Mississippi with steel, the brick rowhouses glow red in the late afternoon, and nobody here will let you leave without trying gooey butter cake or forming an opinion on Provel.

Our St. Louis collection is drawn from that river city. The crewneck sweatshirt carries a compass-and-river badge in brick red and cream with a river-blue accent and the 1764 founding year, a nod to the gateway without borrowing anyone's official graphics. The tee keeps it simple, the city name over a thin compass rose, right for a walk down the Delmar Loop or a Saturday morning in Tower Grove Park. The mug and sticker set share the same artwork.

Everything is original, printed to order in the USA and shipped in a few days. It is for the people who answer the high school question without flinching, the ones who moved back for the house prices, and everyone who left the Lou and still asks relatives to bring gooey butter cake on every visit.

Why we love St. Louis

  • ✦Forest Park is bigger than Central Park and its museums are free
  • ✦Soulard Market has traded since 1779, older than the Constitution
  • ✦Eads Bridge was the first steel-arch bridge across the Mississippi
  • ✦Toasted ravioli and gooey butter cake are both local inventions

Best time to go: April and May for Forest Park in bloom and the first patio nights in Soulard; late September for Tower Grove Park's farmers' market and the clearest skies over the river.
