Missoula, Montana

Missoula is a river town first. The Clark Fork comes through the middle of downtown, Brennan's Wave gives kayakers a standing surf break under the Higgins Avenue bridge, and on a hot July afternoon half the city is floating past Caras Park on inner tubes. Five valleys meet here, which is why the mountains are on every side without ever closing in. The white M on Mount Sentinel is the first hike for every new arrival, the Rattlesnake Wilderness starts a few minutes north of town, and the Hip Strip across the river is where the bookstores, the bars and the bike shops live. Locals call it Zootown and mean it as a compliment.

Our Missoula collection is built around that river. The crewneck carries a leaping trout over a Clark Fork ripple pattern with Mount Sentinel in the background, printed in river blue and sage, the town name set in a hand-cut serif below. The tee is simpler, Missoula over the 1883 line with a single fish, made for a Saturday market on Higgins and a slow evening on the Hip Strip. The mug and sticker share the trout artwork.
