Charleston has more church steeples than tall buildings, which is how it got the name Holy City and why the skyline looks the way it did two hundred years ago. The peninsula is a walking town: Rainbow Row's pastel fronts on East Bay, the mansions along the Battery looking out at the harbor, the Pineapple Fountain at Waterfront Park, King Street for a long afternoon. Cross the Ravenel Bridge and the Lowcountry opens up, with shrimp boats on Shem Creek, the four-hundred-year-old Angel Oak, and Folly Beach at the end of the road. The air smells like jasmine in April and pluff mud at low tide, and locals will tell you both are good.

Our Charleston collection is painted in those porch colors. The crewneck sweatshirt carries a pineapple badge in haint blue and rose, the shades of a Rainbow Row morning, warm enough for an oyster roast in November. The tee is cleaner, a hand-lettered Charleston arc with the 1670 founding year, light enough for a Battery walk in August. The mug and sticker pack use the same artwork so the set reads as one.

Everything is original art from independent designers, printed to order in the USA and shipped in days. It is for people raised south of Broad, people who moved here for the food and stayed for the light, and anyone who left and still orders their grits the Charleston way.

Why we love Charleston

  • ✦Rainbow Row is thirteen pastel houses that have stayed photogenic since the 1930s
  • ✦The Battery promenade looks straight across the harbor to Fort Sumter
  • ✦Shem Creek shrimp boats still unload a few steps from the restaurants
  • ✦The Angel Oak has shaded Johns Island for roughly four centuries

Best time to go: Late March through April when the azaleas and jasmine are out and the air is still soft; October and November for porch weather and oyster roasts.
