Joshua Tree, California

Joshua Tree is where the Mojave and the Colorado deserts meet and the sky takes over. The town itself is a strip of Highway 62, a saloon, a few coffee shops and a lot of dust, but the national park behind it is 800,000 acres of granite boulders, cholla gardens and the twisted yuccas that gave the place its name. Keys View looks down over the whole Coachella Valley, Skull Rock sits right by the road, Hidden Valley is the climbers' living room, and after dark the Milky Way comes out so bright it casts shadows. Pioneertown sits twenty minutes up the hill, still looking like the Western set it was built to be.

Our Joshua Tree collection is drawn from that night sky. The crewneck sweatshirt carries a star-and-yucca badge in deep indigo and desert sand with a 1936 line for the year the land was first protected, heavy enough for a January campsite when the temperature drops below freezing. The tee is a lighter Joshua Tree wordmark with a single star for a Barker Dam loop or a morning at Arch Rock. The mug and sticker share the artwork for the van or the kitchen.
